Benefiting from the rapid advancement of my country's urbanization process and the continuous increase in the penetration rate of plastic pipes, the production and sales of plastic pipes in my country have grown steadily. According to the data of the China Plastics Processing Association, in 2020, my country's plastic pipe output will be 16.36 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%; plastic pipe sales The amount was 337.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%, and the production-sales ratio was 97.2%.
At present, the average market share of my country's plastic pipes in various material pipes exceeds 55%, and there is still a large room for improvement in the market share. The specific reasons are analyzed:
On the one hand, in the field of water supply pipelines, compared with steel pipes, plastic pipes have the advantages of good water quality, strong corrosion resistance, can be used for hot water, and have a long service life. It is used in earthquake areas, so the market penetration is expected to be high. On the other hand, in the field of drainage pipes, plastic pipes have better corrosion resistance, better leakage resistance and lower cost than steel pipes. Moreover, in the field of municipal drainage, the proportion of plastic pipes has exceeded 50%, mainly replacing concrete pipes and reinforced concrete pipes, especially in the field of small diameters.
According to the "In-depth Analysis of the Development of China's Plastic Pipeline Industry and Forecast Report on Investment Prospects (2022-2029)" released by the Guanyan Report Network, in 2021, the "14th Five-Year Plan" Urban Sewage Treatment and Resource Utilization The "Development Plan" clearly stated that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, 80,000 kilometers of sewage collection pipe networks will be newly added and renovated. At the same time, the 14th Five-Year Plan of local governments in many provinces and municipalities also generally involves planning related to pipe network renovation. The renovation plan for the old urban water supply pipeline network in the province is 383 kilometers, the renovation plan for the old urban gas pipeline network is 118 kilometers, and the renovation plan for the old urban heating pipeline network is 624 kilometers.
Therefore, the transformation of old pipelines in my country will be accelerated, and the plastic pipeline industry has a promising market development prospect. According to 2019 data, there are still 1,200 kilometers of old water supply pipe networks in Shanghai that have been in service for more than 50 years and are made of concrete. Assuming this is used to estimate the stock of pipelines in cities across the country, the length of old pipelines to be renovated in my country is 110,000 kilometers. If the renovation is completed within 3 years and 50% of them use plastic pipelines, it is expected to contribute about 6.4% to the growth rate of demand for plastic pipelines every year.
