The Outstanding Report Card Of Foreign Trade Reflects The Resilience And Confidence Of The Economy. New Business Formats Activate New Momentum For Development.
The General Administration of Customs recently announced that in 2023, my country's total import and export value of goods trade was 41.76 trillion yuan, handing over a "report card" with steady growth in scale and improvement in quality. As a new form of foreign trade, cross-border e-commerce is also developing rapidly and has become an important driving force for the development of foreign trade. Yiwu, Zhejiang, known as the "Small Commodity Capital of the World", has an import and export volume of more than 560 billion yuan in 2023, with a growth rate of more than 15%. Among them, cross-border e-commerce exports have grown significantly, and more than one-third of Yiwu's e-commerce companies are conducting cross-border business. Next, let's go to Yiwu to see how new foreign trade formats can achieve high-quality development.
In 2019, Yiwu integrated many units and innovatively established a new government department, the "Yiwu Market Development Committee", to coordinate the promotion of market development, e-commerce and other work. While supporting and strengthening the cross-border e-commerce industry, the development of the logistics industry has also been placed in an important position. In Yiwu, a product can be sent to all parts of the world through a comprehensive and diversified logistics system of land, sea and air.
At present, there are 1,829 domestic logistics companies in Yiwu, and more than 2,000 dedicated highway lines cover all cities at or above the county level across the country. Most county towns can achieve direct two-way logistics with Yiwu. The Yixin-Europe train has established a fast logistics channel between Yiwu and more than 50 Eurasian countries and more than 160 cities. Yiwu Customs has also innovatively launched a supervision model that inspects assembled export goods before shipment, and has set up 210 overseas warehouses in more than 100 cities in 50 countries around the world, achieving full coverage of important trade node cities around the world.
In 2023, my country's cross-border e-commerce import and export volume will be 2.38 trillion yuan. As the third batch of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones in the country, Yiwu is just a microcosm of the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce in China. According to preliminary estimates, in 2023, my country's cross-border e-commerce imports and exports will reach 2.38 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.6%. The number of consumers participating in cross-border e-commerce imports is increasing year by year, reaching 163 million in 2023. The rapid development of cross-border e-commerce not only meets the diverse and personalized needs of domestic consumers, but also helps my country's products reach the world, becoming an important driving force for the development of foreign trade.
