Black-heart malleable cast iron has low strength and hardness, good plasticity and toughness, and is used for parts with small load and high impact and vibration.

Due to its high strength and hardness, pearlite matrix malleable iron is used for important parts with high load, wear resistance and certain toughness requirements. Such as oil pipelines, refinery pipelines and pipe fittings for gas and water supply systems in commercial and residential buildings.
