In the past three years, Hainan's foreign trade exports have reached 149.69 billion yuan, an increase of 59%. Among them, the export of industrial products was 93.85 billion yuan, a substantial increase of 167.8%. Especially driven by green and new energy products such as electric motorcycles and electric golf carts, Hainan's exports to developed markets have developed rapidly in the past three years, and exports to the EU and the United States have increased by 299.2% and 72.5% respectively.
In the past three years, the Hainan Free Trade Port has effectively connected the large domestic market. In the past three years, the total amount of duty-free shopping on Hainan's outlying islands has exceeded 130 billion yuan, an increase of 290%. Zhao Junlun said that in the past three years, the trade between Hainan Free Trade Port and the rest of the world has become closer. Among them, the import and export to countries along the “Belt and Road” was 168.93 billion yuan, an increase of 70.9%. ASEAN continues to maintain Hainan's largest trading partner status, with a total import and export of 91.29 billion yuan, an increase of 30%, accounting for 18.1%. The European Union and Australia followed closely, with an increase of 161.4% and 295.2%, respectively, accounting for 16.4% and 10.7%.
