Digitalization Empowers Logistics Companies And “Black Technology” Helps Chinese Parcels “Fly” To The World
Since 2023, my country's cross-border mailing business volume has achieved year-on-year growth for eight consecutive months. The busy cross-border delivery network can operate in an orderly manner, but there are actually many unknown "black technologies" hidden behind it to promote the delivery system to operate more intelligently.
Ezhou Huahu Airport has the largest express parcel processing system in Asia. Inside the transshipment center, there is an intelligent sorting line about 52 kilometers long, which can handle more than 280,000 packages of various types in one hour. From the time the express is unloaded to the time it is sorted, it takes less than half an hour for a piece of express to make one turn in the transfer center.
The airport has also deployed more than 50,000 optical fiber sensors and 69 5G base stations. They are like the "neurons" of the human body and can aggregate real-time collected data into the digital twin airport system. Facilities such as a 23,000-square-meter cargo terminal, a roughly 700,000-square-meter sorting center, 124 aircraft seats, and airport runways can be clearly seen from any angle.
Today, a batch of digital and intelligent new technologies and equipment are helping Chinese parcels to "fly" around the world. Digital technologies such as visual supply chain management systems and "smart order integration" can make cross-border order processing more reasonable and efficient through big data analysis. The use of intelligent equipment such as unmanned trucks and distribution robots can improve the efficiency of logistics and transportation while saving labor costs.
