It is used to connect with pipes or fittings with a same size and same schedule butt welding ends.The ends of the butt welding pipe fittings are plain ends or bevel ends.The benefit to using a butt weld tee is that it doesn’t leak. Because the butt weld is welded directly to pipe and not simply bolted together, it is not only much stronger than a typical fitting, but it allows for better flow through the system with less resistance to friction.
